Types of Title 1 Programs
There are two types of Title I programs: a Schoolwide program and/or a Targeted Assistance program.
A Schoolwide program serves all children in a school. All staff, resources, and classes are part of the overall Schoolwide program. The school’s poverty level must be at least 40% to be eligible for a Schoolwide program.
A Targeted Assistance program is one in which individual students in a school are targeted to receive Title I services based upon a predetermined selection criteria.
On Martha's Vineyard, all schools receiving Title 1 funds have Targeted Assistance programs.
